In the late 1960’s I’ve started hunting with a falcon and an English Pointer which lead to the hunting of birds with a shotgun over the pointing dogs. Outfitters with international customers approached me and that was how it all began. I bought some GSP Pointers in the 1970s and ever since then I have always had English- and German Shorthair Pointers.
Andries Lombard approached me when he got his first GSP dog to assist him with the dog training from where our passion for bird hunting lead us to start On Point Safaris to share this experience with other outdoor enthusiasts.
With Covid coming along in 2020 our customer base had to change and our focus went to South African hunters. We restructured the hunting package to accommodate a 1-day hunt within curfew hours to adhere to the lockdown regulations.
We allow hunters to bring their own dogs because we understand the bond there is between an owner and its dogs, permitting all hunters on the day to provide their approval.
We love our dogs and the outdoors and would like everyone to share in our experiences!
